'Girl in red hat' As with the others, I sanded the plate but this time no milk. Cut some parts away to retain the white of the paper. Mixed 5 drops of nitric with gum, coated the plate, let dry and applied another coat. Three weeks later I managed to print 15 images, some Black and White, with others added chine collie, others will be hand coloured when dry. They printed up ok, nice plate tone with lots of wood lines. After printing I rolled up the plate in ink, let dry off a little, a day in fact coated with just gum and left to dry for about a week, not necessary really 24 hours would have been ok. The plate printed up as before with no problems, in fact its hard to see the difference except for the lose of fine details, I will rework the next image and add more drawing over the ink to see if I can reintroduce the finer tones. ok back to work. quick life drawing drawing on plate blue transfer paper working the plate
