Letting go and accepting change! Nine months have elapsed since my husband suffered a stroke. I believed that our world and his would disintegrate into endless hours at the hospital, filled with dread as each passing day brought uncertainty about his survival, ability to walk, or speak again. We have returned to a life that is altered, challenging, and at times, heart-wrenching. Each day presents new difficulties, and my victories and defeats are uncertain. His progress is gradual; walking is arduous for him, and his speech is reduced to indistinct mumbles, accompanied by frustration. He comprehends his desires but struggles to articulate them. As time passes, we will make the most of each day, regardless of its nature. The absence of friends is noticeable, and only a few remain in touch. It is unsettling for others to comprehend that he remains the same man—he still requires companionship. My artist’s book, a significant work, has been accepted into the InkMasters print award. It is an immense honour to be part of this esteemed exhibition, alongside many renowned artists. Thank you for this opportunity.

Hybrid printmaking In the midst of a full-house renovation, my schedule has been severely curtailed, leaving me with only one day a week dedicated to studio work. Despite this, I have managed to continue working on some ideas for new hybrid prints and drawings. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has cast a shadow over our lives, and it has been a challenging two years. The constant discussions surrounding the virus have made it difficult to escape its influence. It is undeniable that this pandemic has had a profound impact on our lives, and it is time to reflect on the significance of freedom of movement and travel. I share the sentiments of many others who have family members currently in lockdown. Unfortunately, I am unable to visit or provide assistance to them. The isolation and restrictions imposed are undoubtedly difficult, but they are crucial in controlling the ever-evolving nature of this virus.  Artist book Here are additional images of the now-complete artist’s book, which has taken several years to complete. During this time, several state prints were created. These early trial prints will be sold as individual works of art. I am updating to inform you that my latest project has been completed. It has been an incredible project, involving the creation of images, printing, and finally assembling the book. Over three years of hard work and dedication have been invested in this major undertaking. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to writer and artist Sue Hutton for the words that accompanied the images, adding another layer of depth and meaning to this remarkable artist’s book.

Architecture Stephanie Turnbull Linocut 4/10 Steph Unusual choice for a girl from Wales, Stephanie's linocut sweeps up and beyond the book covers to form the shapes of the Harbour Bridge with the sails of the opera house in the foreground.  Printed in the cool colour of steel, this book this is a strong work and is well suited to the subject of architecture. Tic Tac Tictac, 'some windows never open' mixed media, 5/10 Textural paper with large open windows cut and folded over to form the book, gives the appearance of building material. Large areas are cut to form windows, but are blocked by what appears to be framed photographs with a misty outlook, embellished with black and red markers, the works takes on a mysterious air. Well constructed and thought out book. The secret lives of girlfriends second state prints.  After two years of collaborating with writer and artist Sue Hutton, we are pleased to announce that eight of the images are nearing completion. Sue has also provided short stories for each image. Our ultimate goal is to create seven additional works combining text and images, which will be self-published as an artist’s book. This book will feature original images and text specifically designed for the purpose of hand-printing a book created by an artist and author. We anticipate exhibiting the finished work in 2020. The book will contain 13 images, with five more to complete. The final works may differ from these initial images as the project progresses.
