Book as art, solo exhibition by Catherine Mccue Boes BRAG

END of the exhibition.

What an event! I am immensely pleased with the manner in which this work was presented. With the invaluable assistance of volunteers and my esteemed friend Gail, we successfully curated an extraordinary display of books and images that encapsulates thirty years of my artistic endeavours.

The exhibition provided a platform to showcase the works from my extensive collection. As a book artist, I have been fortunate to be part of a national and international group of artists. Through our exchange programme, we have not only broadened my perspective but also deepened my knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by other artists. I extend my sincere gratitude to these individuals for allowing their work to be exhibited alongside mine.

The conclusion of an exhibition that has spanned two years brings a sense of melancholy. The absence of a fan fair and the immediate packing up of the work leave a void. However, I am resolute in my determination to continue exploring alternative venues for showcasing my work and potentially embarking on a tour. I believe that my creations have more to offer and deserve to be seen by a wider audience.

During the days leading up to the exhibition’s closure, I had the privilege of meeting some truly remarkable photographers and book artists. Their enthusiasm for the exhibition was palpable, and I am grateful for their support.
